Yamaha Launches Third Generation FZ-FI, FZS-FI Motorcycles With ABS

India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt Ltd today launched the third generation version of its FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorcycles with ABS in Bengaluru, at Rs 95,000 and Rs 97,000, respectively, prices ex-showroom Delhi. The company also launched the dual channel ABS variants of its FZ 25 and Fazer 25 motorcycles at Rs 1.33 lakh and Rs 1.43 lakh, respectively, ex-showroom Delhi. Furthermore, IYM also showcased the dual channel ABS variant of its recently-launched YZF R15 v3 motorcycle at the evet.

The newly-stylised FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorcycles are powered by an air-cooled, SOHC, two-valve, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, 149 cc BLUE CORE engine delivering maximum power of about 13 hp, and 12.8 Nm torque. Meanwhile, the newly-launched FZ 25 and Fazer 25 only feature dual channel ABS as an addition, with no changes to any other powertrain, chassis or switchgear.

The FZ-FI and FZS-FI feature a newly-designed sub frame, BOSCH single channel ABS in the front wheel, higher handle bar position, LCD instrument cluster and rear disc brakes. Other new components include separate housings for LED headlight beams, FZ 25 mudguards, newly-designed plastic resin tank cover, sliding engine kill switch, tank-mounted main switch and two-level seat with grab bars. In addition the FZS-FI v3 comes with a lower engine fairing, partly chrome finished air intake and exclusive colour schemes.

Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of companies, said excitement of ‘The Call of the Blue’ continues with the launch of the new FZ-FI and FZS-FI with ABS in India today. Following the outstanding response from YZF-R15 v3 launched last year, Yamaha is confident to further create a niche in the 150 cc segment with the new FZ-FI and FZS-FI, he added. Shitara noted that the new launch from Yamaha will strengthen the company’s presence in the deluxe class in India.
